Saturday, February 20th
(Anaheim) – Today Orange County-based Family Action PAC announced its support of Anaheim Deputy Chief Craig Hunter for Orange County Sheriff. Family Action PAC adds a formidable presence to the already momentous campaign finance team, and brings a wealth of relationships with Orange County’s donor base.
“Craig Hunter embodies Orange County’s values. He is an accomplished leader and his track record of public safety in Anaheim is simply among the best,” said Family Action PAC President Larry Smith. “Just as important, Craig is a proven law enforcement CEO, and he takes real care to ensure that taxpayers’ dollars are spent prudently.”
“Orange County is a unique place to raise a family and build a business,” continued Smith. “We should have the best run Sheriff’s department – one that reflects Orange County’s values of hard work, fiscal conservatism, and strong public safety.”
Family Action PAC has made its mark on Orange County government, helping to elect dozens of Orange County leaders over the past two decades. They bring a reputation for excellence to the campaign team and will be working directly with fundraising professionals Anne Dunsmore and Phyllis Schneider to meet finance goals.
As Anaheim’s Deputy Chief, Craig Hunter oversees all daily police operations of California’s tenth largest city, including the department’s nearly 800 full-time and volunteer members, and a $120 million budget. During his tenure, Anaheim has earned national acclaim for homeland security and community policing, and the city is recognized as the safest among California’s ten largest cities. Chief Hunter has also implemented numerous cost saving procedures that have streamlined spending, eliminated waste, and created more efficient use of taxpayer dollars.
Chief Hunter holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Chapman University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Command College, POST Leadership Institute, and the Delinquency Control Institute at USC. Craig and Lisa Hunter live in Yorba Linda and are raising their four children.
